Bie Daip (czyli Nad Kanałem) International Shanty Festival to festiwal muzyki morza odbywający się co roku pod koniec sierpnia w niewielkim miasteczku Appingedam w Holandii, położonym tuż przy granicy niemieckiej. Bie Daip International Shanty Festival takes place every year by the end of August, in a little town in the Netherlands, close to the German border.
To senne miasteczko na jeden weekend staje się rozśpiewanym centrum muzycznym, gdzie publiczność ma okazję nie tylko posłuchać starannie dobranych wykonawców z całej Europy, a nawet Stanów Zjednoczonych, ale również się z nimi integrować przy kuflu złocistego piwa Warsteiner.
For one weekend, this sleepy town becomes the centre of maritime music, where the audience may listen to the best performers from all over Europe and even from the USA and also to meet them and drink together.

Kameralna atmosfera, restauracyjne ogródki zajmujące część głównego placu przy kościele sprzyjają nawiązywaniu nowych znajomości, nawet pomimo pewnych barier językowych. The cozy atmoshpere, restaurants with outdoor tables on the main square just next to the church give the opportunity to make new friends, despite language barriers.

Appingedam to kwintesencja Holandii - urokliwe kanały, łodzie, mosty i domy z kuchniami wiszącymi nad wodą... Appingedam is the Netherlands in a nutshell - picturesque canals, boats, bridges and houses with the kitchens hanging over the water...
Koncerty odbywają się w przeróżnych miejscach - na scenie nad kanałem, w pubach i przed nimi, a nawet w kościele, który obecnie służy za kawiarnię (pyszna szarlotka!)
The gigs take place in various locations - on the stage by the canal, in pubs and in front of them and even inside a church, which is now a café (that serves mouth-watering apple pie)
